Accommodation Cost based on:

7 people: £67.00

5 people: £94.00

A mid-summer club trip visiting the MTB magnet which is the Forest of Dean. Travelling down on the Friday evening to our accommodation situated just a couple of hundred metres from the Cannop Trail Centre. We will be able to use the trails as soon it opens on the Saturday and avoid the fairly steep car park charge. The centre has a good mix of trails of varying technical abilities. There are also several technical "off piste" trails nearby. For details see:

https://www.forestryengland.uk/forest-dean-cycle-centre/cycling-and-mountain-biking-trails-forest-dean-cycle-centre

Sunday will see us riding the XC tracks and trails in around the Forest, again staring and finishing at our accommodation. Estimated distance 23 miles.

On the Monday we head over to 417 Bike Park for some more trail centre fun. It has trails suited from beginner to extreme. Entry cost to 417 Bike Park as per: https://417bikepark.co.uk/prices/

Please contact me if you are interested. I will then be able to give a firm figure for the accommodation cost.

News

  • Mickleham to Box Hill -26 miles - Club Members Ride April 24

A fantastic trail ride with some fast flowy single track, starting from Mickleham heading up to Box Hill for a well deserved ice cream and coffee stop! Final part of the day more fast, flowy and dry trails before heading back to a much needed and well deserved finish at the 51 degrees cafe for drinks and food. See you on the next ride!

  • Hope MTB Marathon Builth Wells - Club Members Away Days April 24

A couple of our club members rode at the Builth Wells marathon in central Wales, the original classic course, big mountain climbs and descents. The marathon had a great atmosphere as riders are not competing against each other instead are challenged by the course itself. A great day out riding classic welsh trails. See you on the next ride!

  • TrailBreak - Chilterns Ridge - Club Members Ride April 24

A local TrailBreak event, starting at Princes Risborough riding on cross country style trails in the Chiltern hills. Cracking event and two of of our club members came in at 14th and 19th out of 350 riders what a result! See you on the next ride!

  • Great Missenden Night Ride - 20 miles - Club Members Ride April 24

Circular route starting from Great Missenden leading to Hampden House, Lacey Green, Whiteleaf, Dunsmore and back. This is a hilly ride with quality woodland trails, tight and twisty single track. Still a little bit wet but conditions improving. Nice dinner at the Fish Bar & Mangal, Great Missenden. See you on the next ride!

  • Watership Down - North Wessex Downs - 26 Miles - Club Members Ride

A circular route starting from Whitchurch, the Gateway to the North Wessex Downs. Past ancient broad leaf woodland, across wide sweeping downland and up to the high chalk ridge and the top of Watership Down. Along the trail you will pass some of the actual book locations; the ancient Harroway where Efrafa is located at the ‘crossing point of two bridle paths’, Nuthangar Farm, Watership Down and Hampshire’s famous River Test chalk stream. A social ride so pace will be 8-9 mph so about 3-4 hours with a well deserved pit stop at Riverside Cafe - Whitchurch Silk Mill. See you on the next ride!

  • Cadmore End to Stoner - 18 miles - Club Members Ride April24

A circular route starting from Cadmore End heading to Ibstone, Northend, Pishill, Stoner and back. This is a hilly ride, steep climbs rewarded by long woodland descents.
