With MJ leading his first ride in the area, it wasn't long before he got lost in the myriad of trails in the Hurt Wood forest. With a bit of help from the others, and some good fortune, we we're able to pick up the route again.
We were all soon buzzing with the exhilaration and adrenaline with the trails fast and grippy, including a terrific descent down the notable Barry Knows Best.
The excellent riding continued taking in favourites such as Root of all Evil, Supernova and John the Baptist (via the Jack in the Tree)
We stopped off at Peaslake for some well earned refreshments before commencing the long climb to the summit of Holmbury Hill.
Its was all downhill thenceafter riding the pulse racing Yogurt Pots and Telegraph Row trails, and finishing with a steep descent back into Holmbury. It was on this final descent that Steve A's front forks popped, discharging most of its air. Steve managed to limp back to the cars riding on 90% sag!
Many thanks to those attended: Jim L and Steve A for help with the navigation, Vit K for the excellent photography, and to Mike W for his first big ride in the Surrey Hills.
