Welcome to BucksMTB

Welcome to BucksMTB Club the home of Buckinghamshire mountain biking based in the Chiltern Hills.

BucksMTB caters for everything mountain biking in the Chilterns, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and beyond.

BucksMTB was first established in 2002 and is an officially registered and insured Mountain Bike Club who is affiliated to Cycling UK (previously the CTC), BikeClub and the Cycle Chilterns project.

Dear Club Members and local riders

We are taking the health and well-being of our members, supporters, groups and volunteers very seriously and we're following the UK Government, NHS, Public Health England and CyclingUK guidance closely.

We have safely, and successfully, reintroduced Club Member rides since July, however with the latest UK Government advice published in September we need to update our stance to keep all our members and staff safe.

Rides will be following guidance from CyclingUK (published 14/09/2020) that is based upon the latest UK Government guidance. As such rides will be limited to groups of 6 and current social distancing measures must be adhered too. Should more than 6 members attend any ride then the party will be split accordingly.

Further information is available here: https://www.cyclinguk.org/article/coronavirus-qa-it-safe-cycle and here https://www.cyclinguk.org/news/coronavirus-advice-and-guidance-cycling-uk-member-and-affiliate-groups

We also ask that all riders bring a small antibacterial gel along with them, and we request that you carry any tools and spares necessary so you do not need to rely on other riders. It is entirely personal preference should you wish to bring and wear a face covering. We also ask anyone with symptoms of COVID, or symptoms of any flu or fever to stay at home and self isolate and not to attend any club rides.

The Club Committee is working hard to plan a future proof route ahead for future Club Rides, and at a later date reintroduce Public Open Group Rides. For the time-being we advise you to please read the CyclingUK guidance and to pay particular attention to any restrictions listed on event listings. All riders must register their attendance to a ride so that we can track attendees in case any club member or volunteer develops possible symptoms of COVID. We recommend that if you want to go out cycling, whether by yourself, or as a group, to keep a safe distance from others.

Please also carefully monitor the status of any local lock down, and any travel restrictions between England, Scotland and Wales.

For further information take a look at Cycling UK's Coronavirus Q&A: is it safe to cycle report and their further guidance on Covid-19. For further information also see the UK Government website.
