This was our monthly Group Ride Event, open to both club members and non members. Non club members can attend as visiting riders for up to two rides to get a feel for the rides and the club and to see if they like the route, members and staff!
As you can see from the photo below it was yet another superb turn out. Nineteen riders turned up for our Swinley Ride (a couple missing from the photo!). The group was a great mix of new faces, returning newbie's and club members.
The day was split up in to two halves to cater for everyone who had different commitments time wise. The first part of the day was from 10:30 through until around 12:30 taking in about a fifteen mile loop of Swinley's never ending singletrack maze of trails! This loop took in all the best bits Swinley has to offer including most of the hidden gems. After this route we headed back to the Cafe to regroup, warm up and enjoy some cake.
After a brew some riders departed home (some under the thumb!) and the rest of us stocked up on some more cake to go out and hit the trails again to take on the Labyrinth a few more times and some of the other epic singletrack including the tank traps. After we had all decided our legs were shot and the cold was sinking in we headed back for a final brew at the Lookout Cafe before packing up for the day.
This was yet another great day; a superb turn out, lucky with the weather, the trails were riding well, good choice of cake at the cafe and everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves!
