Welcome to BucksMTB Mountain Bike Club

Let's Ride

This was to be the first large scale event we have organised and held on our own and we were keen to make it special! We chose our regular stomping (spinning?) ground at Wendover Woods as our venue because it’s such a wonderful location; beautifully scenic with great facilities, a welcoming café and in an easy to reach location. Perfect!

Now a fun day wouldn’t be complete without something fun to bring in the crowds so we spoke to our friends at Shoretrax who very kindly donated their course for our cause! The Shore Trax course can be set up in any configuration possible which allowed us to design a route that would be suitable for riders of all ages and abilities. The corners and straight sections could be raised or lowered to make bermed corners or rollers and table-tops so we could quickly change the course depending on who was around! Particularly useful when the junior balance bikes came out!

Also in attendance was Haddenham Cycle Training with some great hints and tips on safe riding and even better - free cycle coaching! Last but certainly not least we also had the owners of The Little Bike Company who had brought a selection of their most popular kids bikes and bike helmets for people to try out on our Shore Trax course who were on hand to give parents and budding junior riders advice. John from The Café In The Woods also offered a special discounted cyclists breakfast to all who attended – thanks!

Bucks MTB set up a number of fun activities including blindfolded cycling, bike orienteering with a specially designed course, and lead mountain bike rides around the Wendover Woods family cycle trail.

The day started with a huge thunder storm but almost immediately after the skies cleared for most of the morning, we had all of our activities set up on a huge grassy area very central at the top of Wendover Woods which saw a lot of interest from passing walkers (and dogs!). Throughout the day we were kept busy with lots of riders who had come up to meet us and partake in the fun! The rain certainly didn’t put people off and the Shore Trax course was busy all day with some very keen children who refused to let the rain ruin their fun!

I’d like to extend a huge thank you to all of our visitors who came to ride, and to everybody who helped throughout the day to make it such a success! For a full selection of the photos taken on the day please click HERE.

Best Wishes
