Our route took us on one of our firm favourite group ride loops, around fifteen miles heading from Coombe Hill down and out towards Chequers, Cadsen and Whiteleaf before returning. This is a great off-road loop with a great mix of fast winding trails, some fireroad sections, a couple of short road stints and a lot of great tight and twisty singletrack. Because of the "damp" summer we have had so far the trails were damp but riding really well, but the rain had made all the foliage sodden which in turn drenched us, and the nettles and brambles had certainly grown well in places!
Our group for the day including two new faces, both of good MTBing experience that meant for a nice fun and well paced ride, we even managed to grab a cheeky ice cream at the end of the ride, just, as of course is normal, the sun started to come out!
Because of the rain and keeping the group moving throughout the day we didn't manage any photos unfortunately.
Thanks to everyone who helped plan, lead and also to everyone who attended.
Please check back to our website soon for details of our upcoming July and August open group rides.
