Away weekend in North Somerset.

Day one, a circular route traversing the Quantock Hills, varied style trails through ancient oak woodland, heathland and pine forest, some technical rocky sections with stream crossings, 26 miles with 5500ft climbing. Meet point, Holford Bowling Green car park TA5 1SA.

Day two, a circular route starting from Minehead leading to Dunkery Beacon, again varied trails including rock garden descents. 26 miles with 5700ft climbing. Parking at Hill Road TA24 5LB.

Both rides are physically tough going but rewarded with fantastic scenery and technical trails. Can be ridden on a hardtail bike but expect a bumpy ride!
